Larimar is a rare blue variety of the mineral pectolite. Discovered relatively recently in the 1970 is found only in the Dominican Republic, in the Caribbean. It is prized for its striking blue hues, ranging from light sky blue to deep ocean blue, often mottled with white or gray patterns resembling waves or clouds.
