Pietersite is a variety of opaque fibrous Quartz. Its name comes from Sid Pieters, who discovered it in Namibia in 1962. It is composed of a mixture of Hawk's Eye and Tiger's Eye, containing Crocidolite. When the inclusions have been oxidized by iron, it presents a yellow or brown color. Exceptional quality and large specimen with a very beautiful chatoyancy, top quality.
